The Marigny is a New Orleans neighborhood immediately adjacent to the French Quarter and is considered part of the Bywater District Area. Famous for Frenchman Street nightlife, the Marigny is characterized by some of the most popular small venues for live music in the city.

The Marigny is a neighborhood in the city of New Orleans. A subdistrict of the Bywater District Area, its boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are as follows: North Rampart Street and St. Claude Avenue to the north, Franklin Avenue to the east, the Mississippi River to the south and Esplanade Avenue to the west.

A subdistrict of the Bywater District Area, its boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are as follows: Florida Avenue to the north, the Industrial Canal to the east, the Mississippi River to the south and Franklin Avenue Street to the west. Bywater is part of the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, but it is located along the natural levee of the Mississippi River, sparing the area from significant flooding. It includes part or all of the Bywater Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
